Mould parting design is a focus of current automatic mould designing research. Because of its complex structure, high flexibility and experience dependence, especially in the design of engine blade moulds, it is hard to achieve satisfactory design automation merely by the existing numerical mould parting design methods . We propose a rule based automatic mould parting design method in this paper. In such a method, original mould parting schemes can be generated by experience enhanced rules, and progressive optimiz ations follow to make them fit with special design constraints. We put forward a method for concise representations of reasoning oriented design knowledge. We use topological restriction, multiple types of predicates, variable quotations and uncertainty description to overcome the obstacles such as spatial constraint expression and modeling procedure description. Mould parting reasoning process can be performed in space with the aid of topologically restricted backdating to achieve a higher degree of design automation. Fig.1 illustrates schematically the process of automatic mould parting design. Figs.3 and 4 give the simulation results. Our method has met with preliminary success when applied to the mould design of aero engine blades, the design efficiency is increased by 60%.

针对发动机叶片模具的分模设计约束复杂、方法灵活和经验依赖性强的特点 ,提出了基于规则的自动分模设计方法。通过自动求解初始方案并对其逐步求精和优化 ,提高分模设计的自动化程度 ;提出面向造型设计且适于空间推理的造型知识表示法 ,用多类谓词、拓扑限定、不确定性描述使复杂的造型对象、设计方法和启发式经验得以准确而清晰地表达 ,并实现空间推理的自动回溯。最后给出自动分模设计实例 ,表明交互设计工作量显著减少 ,设计效率提高 60 %以上
