The results show that the total load on the cage is about 65.67kN, and four anchors (4kg×250kg), four mooring chains (4kg×150kg) and four mooring ropes(4m×33m) are needed for operation in safety.

Hydraulic prototype test results on filling and emptying system of Gezhouba Navigation Lock No.2 are presented in this paper, it contains mainly five parts: (a) flow patterns; (b) discharge coefficients; (c) filling and emptying times; (d) pressures along the culverts; (e) hawser forces. Finally, comparisons between the model and prototype tests are made. The results may serve as valuable references to the design, research and operation of high lift navigation locks.
