In this paper, the effect of the concentration of polymeric sample on the experimental result accuracy was discussed. The best concentration of modified rosin phenolic resin is 1 mg/mL. The best method was established though which the molecular weight and its distribution is quickly determined from the experiment. The results show that the data reappearance well and the standard deviation, the coefficients of variation, the relative error is 0.995, 3.13%, 2.46% respectively. The number average molecular of modified rosin phenolic resin is 1.594×10 5. Its weight average molecular is 5000 and its distribution is 31.80. The method provides the scientific basis for the further research of this kind of modified rosin phenolic resin.
