     The fractures of 77MnA wire rod in the process of drawing and coiling are analyzed by means of optical- metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope. Results show that the primary causes to the fracture in the process of cold drawing and coiling are existence of severe cold deformation structures and martensitic hardening layer in part of the wire rod surface. These structures generating in the process of cold drawing are closely related to deviation from the specification of roundness for the original wire rod.
