Soil moisture characteristic curve, S~θr, is a kind of curve to depict physical properties of soil, water capacity C_θ is a important parameter to represent the physical properties of soil. C_θ~S curve is a important assistant curve to the S~θr curve.Based on the C_θ~S curve, to introduce the derivative of saturation level G to the practical diameter of pore space, D, i.e.dG/dD.Let the dG/dD be ordinate in the S~θr figure and to make scale of dG/dD be same as C_θ then C_θ~S curve will be just fitted to the dG/dD curve. Therefore, the physical meaning of water capacity C_θ is extended to the increment of soil,water capacity due to the change of unit pore diameter of soil which can also represent the relative volume content of different pore diameter to the total pore space. As the extension of the physical meaning of water capacity, the application field of it in the scientific research and practical project will be extended too.

土壤水分特征曲线S~θr是反映土壤物理特性的曲线,比水容量C_θ是表证土壤物理特性的一个重要参数,C_θ~S曲线是S~θr曲线的一条重要的辅助曲线。在此基础上,引入饱和度G及其对实效孔径D的导数dG/dD,在S~θr图上增设dG/dD座标,dG/dD的标度取与C_θ一致,则-C_θ~S曲线恰与dG/dD~D曲线重合,于是比水容量C_θ的物理意义即扩展为土壤中单位实效孔径的变化而引起土壤饱和度的增量,还可表示不同孔径的孔隙占土壤总孔隙的相对含量。由于比水容量物理意义的扩展,其在科研和生产实践中的应用范围将会随之扩大。
