Based on the spatial information techniques such as RS, GIS, and GPS, the forest landscape patterns in the Helan Mountain, western China, were studied.

Combining the methods of qualitative description and quantitative evaluation for the quality of forest landscape, the quantitative evaluation model of forest landscape quality in Maoer Mountain region was presented by using 148 pieces of data of evaluation in field collected by students.
