In the light of the implementation effect of drinking water projects for human and livestocks with underground water storage tanks, which were carried out by the China Germany Cooperation Item of Grain aid for Shandong Province, in Yi Meng Mountainous District in Central Southern Region of Shandong Province, the Structural form and storage method of underground water tanks and their adaptation condition, advantages and shortcomings are analyzed.
To optimize distributions of water resources, explore the suitable technologies of rainfall collection and water storage in Beijing mountainous areas, realize the rational allocation of precipitation, ground water and surface water, and improve producing and living conditions of farmers in mountainous areas, Beijing Municipal Government implemented the project of water conservancy enriching farmer in 1997. In recent years, production conditions based on water in mountainous areas have been improved greatly.
