It is experimentally shown that the traditional method to measure the corona onset is obtained from mat hematic statistics, but the corona and its onset resulting from the nature factor this paper mentioned will be of greater value both in theory and in practice.

The experiment results show both air density and humidity clearly affect the corona inception field and the effect of humidity increases with reducing of air density. This mechanism is investigated in the paper. This paper also presents part results to show that corona inception field is independent of the number of subconductors. In the end, the characteristics of radio interference under different air density and humidity are studied through experiments performed on single conductor.
