The article probe into the way of transission and mechanism of VP in willow. The result declares that transmission of VP in willow stem (salix babylonica) plantlet can be evoked by treating the wood with Naclsolution or by a local burn on the stem. VP transmission can still occur if the rind is removed by ringing, but transmission fails if a partion of the central woody core (xylem) is removed. It is possible that phloem hardly receive and transmit the ricea's factor from cutting xylem. These results seem to indicate that in willow stem VP is transmited vertical long distance by xylem. It is not by phlom. VP of willow stem phloem transmit horizontlly from xylem to thin wall cell and thin wall cell radiate out. The VP transmission seem to receive and transmit by locol current of living.
