Of the 875 NBS-LRR sequences, 119 (13.6%) sequences had alternative splicing where multiple FL-cDNAs, TGI sequences and proteins corresponded to the same gene. 71 intron retention events, 20 exon skipping events, 16 alternative termination events, 25 alternative initiation events, 12 alternative 5′ splicing events, and 16 alternative 3′ splicing events were identified.
The F2 population containing 500 individuals was developed using two cultivated rice germplas-ms (Oryza sativa L.) , HTTAR005 as female parent from HTTAR and IRGC20509 as male parent from IRRI, and the ILP (intron length polymorphism) markers were employed to genotype the 117 individuals of the F2 population.
RI01954, an BLP marker mapped in the 3ri chromosome, was found that its homozygous locus for male parent were completely absent in the 117 individuals and the ratio of RI01954 locus between homozygous of female parent and heterozygous was 1:1 (x2c=0.90, x2c
In this study, the intron-contained construct expressing hpRNA of NtDGAT1 was created to express double strand RNA in transgenic tobacco. According to the principle of RNA interference (RNAi), the hpRNA construct could silence Nicotiana tabacum endogenous DGAT1 gene effectively.
Furthermore, characteristics of EID, such as intron phase, distribution of different splice sites, and the relationship between genome size and intron proportion or intron density, have been studied.
The exon-intron structure of these genes has been analyzed in zebrafish Danio rerio, loach Misgurnus fossilis, fugu Takifugu rubripes, and Nile puffer Tetraodon fahaka.
This is supported by high sequence similarity between mlc1 and mlc3 as well as by the exon-intron structure of these genes and their localization on different chromosomes.
