Silver supported a-Al_2O_3 was prepared by the method similar to that of industrial silver catalyt. The catalytic activity was evaluated under practical conditions. TPD measurements of oxygen and the kinetic data of epoxidation reaction were examined. The adsorbed atomic oxygen is found to be the crucial species. The reaction follows the L-H mechanism, and a possible reaction path-way is proposed.
