The results show that the size of a closure gap should be determined based on the control flow velocity of a typical tide current during flood seasons, meanwhile , the gap bed and jetty head should be well protected, that the sequence and method for gap closure works should be determined based on the contour of the maximum flow velocity of a typical flood tide current during nonflood seasons, that the wide shallow entrance and multi section should be used in gap closure works on soft foundation with the maximum velocity set at the foot of section slopes, meanwhile, protection measures should be strengthened during construction, and that the optimum technical scheme for gap closure works should meet the requirements of the minimum engineering quantity and easy organization and management during construction, and realization of closure during a neap tide.
