It is necessary to summarize the characteristics of Chinese new verse in the turn of century. This paper reviews Chinese new verse since 1976 form several aspects,including schools, styles, forms and patterns of aeshetics . Current Chinese Modern Poetry differs greatly from vernacular free verse in embryo. Stylistically speaking, Chinese Modern Poetry, which is still at its rudimentary stage, is expecting to shake off its immaturity and embrace the new glory in the coming century.
