This paper discusses why we should introduce Chinese culture, what part of Chinese culture we should introduce and how to introduce it in English language teaching under globalization. There are two reasons for introducing Chinese culture in ELT: the lack of Chinese culture in intercultural communication and that of equal intention in intercultural communication practice and research. As for what to introduce and how to introduce it, we should do the following: make clear what parts of Chinese culture are best; set up equal intention in intercultural communication; adjust the content of English textbook, add Chinese culture to it; always be ready to spread Chinese culture to the world; improve the intercultural communication competence of English teachers.

本文探讨了在全球化背景下,英语教学中为什么要导入中国文化和导入什么样的中国文化及如何导入的问题。导入中国文化的原因有二:第一,全球化背景下跨文化交流中中国文化的缺失及跨文化交流实践中研究平等交流意识的缺失。第二,就导入什么和如何导入,笔者认为应从以下问题着手:弄清中国文化之精髓;确立平等文化意识;调整英语教材内容,增加母语文化;积极主动地传输中国文化,让世界了解中国;提高英语教师跨文化交流的素质。
