This paper describes the principle and technology of absolute determination of electron absorbed dose by an extrapolation chamber. The absorbed dose, its distributions in depth and along scanning direction and practical ranges in several materials for electron beams of the J-2.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator, were measured. The estimated uncertainty of the absorbed dose in medium m was 1.7%, falling in the range reported by similar works of the world.
