The geometrical theory of diffraction(GTD) has been used to calculate the Roll-Plane(Equatorial-Plane) radiation of the one and two vertical monopole elements on the base of the cone. The single and double diffractions have been considered. According to Famat's principle, two trigonometric equation sets have been derived in search of all possible single and double diffractions. The computed results by means of the computer program are in good agreement with the experimental ones. This radiation pattern, together...

The geometrical theory of diffraction(GTD) has been used to calculate the Roll-Plane(Equatorial-Plane) radiation of the one and two vertical monopole elements on the base of the cone. The single and double diffractions have been considered. According to Famat's principle, two trigonometric equation sets have been derived in search of all possible single and double diffractions. The computed results by means of the computer program are in good agreement with the experimental ones. This radiation pattern, together with the pitch-plane radiation patterns of the vertical monopole on the base of the cone, calculated previously, forms the volume patterns. The results and analysis presented in this article can be easily extended to the radiation calculation pf the antennas on the disc and the off-focal parabolic antennas.

本文应用几何绕射理论(GTD),计算了圆锥底上一元和二元垂直单振子滚动面(赤道面)的辐射图。计算中考虑了一次和二次绕射。为了搜索所有可能的一次和二次边缘绕射点,根据费马原理,导出了两个超越方程组。由计算机程序完成的计算与实验进行了比较,取得了较为一致的结果。与以前计算得到的圆锥底上垂直单振子的俯仰面(子午面)辐射图一起,构成了圆锥底上垂直单振子的立体辐射图。本文的结果和分析方法,容易推广到金属圆盘上的天线及偏焦抛物面的辐射计算。

The application of GTD to the analysis of wide angle radiation from reflector anten-nas began in the early 1970’s.GTD is a new technique for calculating antenna sidelobes.The authors of this paper have used it to calculate the sidelobes of modified dual-reflector antennas.The major factors forming the sidelobes of such antennas are:pri-mary-feed spillover,diffraction from the edges of both the main- and sub-reflectors,scattering of the subreflector support struts,and errors in the main reflector profile.These...

In ray techniques based on GO and GTD,the radii of the curvatures of the reflec-tors and reflected wavefronts are important geometrical parameters.The modificationsof the reflectors of modified dual-reflector antennas are constrained by feed patterns.The conventional formulas for the radii of the curvatures of the reflectors of Cassegrainantennas cannot be used to calculate those of the modified dual-reflector antennas.Accurate formulas for the radii of the curvatures of both the modified main- and sub-reflectors and the reflected wavefronts through them are derived in this paper.
