In this paper, the power loss caused by rolling friction of the overseas new type Roller Bearing Clutch is analysed by means of tribology theory. The equation of the power loss produced by elastic hysteresis and viscous effect is developed and the corelative expression of the parameters such as torque moment M and outer anxial movement ΔL is derived.

The results show that the elastic hysteresis loop can be successfully measured by use of optical lever method,which is proved to be an efficient way to determine the elastic hysteresis loop of metal wires.

However, a new type of elastic materials-niobium-base alloy, such as Nb-40Ti-5.5Al, possesses excellent combined properties, including non-magnetism, corrosion resistance to sea water, small temperature coefficient of elastic modulus, high elastic limit, small elastic lag and low elastic modulus.

According to the characteristics of traveling-wave and the corresponding relationships between equations in space and time domain, two newly accurate parameters, the gap value and the contact-deformation angle, are presented to describe the different contact conditions of the rotor/stator interface. Rod and thin wire of the alloy (Nb-40Ti-5.5Al) were prepared. Moreover, the alloy, either as-cold-worked or as-solution-annealed, can be aging-hardened. The pressure sensors with all parts (elastic element, frame, compensation stick and vibration wire) made of the alloy have reached high accuracy (0.2%) and its good stability has been proved by practical uses in sea water.
