An experiment in the effect of the bio-methanated spent wash(BSW), raw spent wash(RSW) and lagoon sludge(LS) with NPK+FYM(farmyard manure) on nutritional quality of groundnut and enzyme activity of plant and soil was conducted.The waste-water sludge did not affect the content(%) of protein in groundnut but increased the seed yield and the content of methionine by 44% and cysteine by 24%.The highest seed yield(619?kg/hm 2) could be produced with the treatment of BSW and then the yield(557?kg/hm 2 and 472?kg/hm...

An experiment in the effect of the bio-methanated spent wash(BSW), raw spent wash(RSW) and lagoon sludge(LS) with NPK+FYM(farmyard manure) on nutritional quality of groundnut and enzyme activity of plant and soil was conducted.The waste-water sludge did not affect the content(%) of protein in groundnut but increased the seed yield and the content of methionine by 44% and cysteine by 24%.The highest seed yield(619?kg/hm 2) could be produced with the treatment of BSW and then the yield(557?kg/hm 2 and 472?kg/hm 2), RSW and LS. The highest total content of chlorophyll(2.94?mg/g) in groundnut leaf was recorded with the treatment of LS. The application of BSW and RSW significantly increased the activity of plant peroxidase whereas the plant polyphenol oxidase was high in BSW only.The application of wastewater sludge did not affect the nitrate reductase activity but BSW significantly increased the content of nitrate in the rhizosphere soil. The waste-water sludge significantly increased the dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase activity more than the treatment of NPK+FYM.

Thsh study was conducted about biomethanated spent wash (BSW) ,raw spent wash (RSW), and lagoon sludge (LS) versus recommended NPK+FYM (farmyard manure) on nutritional quality of groundnut and enzyme activities of plant and soil. The wastewater sludge increased the seed yield and the contents of methionine by 44% (1.15/16g N vs 0.80/16g N in control) and of cysteine by 24% (1.36/16g N vs 1.10g/16g N in control). BSW produced the highest seed yield (6190 kg/hm~2) followed by RSW (5570 kg/hm~2) and LS (4720 kg/hm~2)....
