The areal distribution of the cyclonic circulation with height of the experimental storms has also been measured, also agreeing quite well with the observed ones.The downward current (fig. 6) within the eye and the small disturbances (left side of fig. 4) have been observed in the experimental storms.Gravitational waves in the experimental storms were observed and discussed, (upper levels of figures 8a, 8b). Their speed satisfies the relation,T2 and T1 being respectively the temperature of the upper and lower layer. Spiral waves in the upper layer (figures7a-7b) are clearly seen. Spiral bands are also evident in the lower layer picture (fig. 9).The structure of the experimental tropical storms is highly asymmetric. It has been pointed out that the spiral cloud bands of typhoon are producted by the gravity-inertial waves. By using the linearized equations in cylindrical coordinates and the theory of slow-variating wave train the dispersion relation and the group velocity of these spiral waves have been discussed. Through the detailed analysis of the energy equation, it is obvious that the nonhomogeneities of the angular velocity of the base field in the horizontal and vertical direction provides the energy source for the development of the trailing spiral wave. The vertical shear is a more important factor.

在指出台风中螺旋云带本质上反映了一类重力惯性内波后,应用缓变波列理论讨论了这类螺旋波的色散关系和群速度,同时进一步指出曳式波发展的能源主要是背景场转动角速度在水平和垂直方向上的不均匀性,特别是垂直切变更为重要。
