The insulation detection is related to not only present cases,but also comparision with its historic varible and cases of same equipment ,so the expert system is led. The composition of insulation detection expert system is introduced. Two such expert systems are listed. The overall diagnosis about insulation status is done automatically by using knowledge of artificial neutral net work and fuzzy mathematics in data bank of expert system and comparing present measured value with varible of historic value.

Power equipment diagnosis and maintenance play a key role in reliable power system operation.Current maintenance in-formation management cannot satisfy the convenient access,exchange and sharing of the maintenance information.Information tech-nology opens new door to power equipment community with powerful and convenient information sharing capabilities.In this paper,an Internet based virtual hospital(VH)for power equipment is introduced.VH provides a convenient platform for experience /infor-mation sharing,discussion and worldwide collaborations.It supports worldwide information sharing on tests,diagnostics,and main-tenance of power equipment ,and promotes distance training,continuing education and remote diagnostics wherever Internet is ac-cessible.VH also provides an easy starting point and in-depth study links for diagnostics of power equipment failures or abnormali-ties,as well as a convenient communication channel for the power equipment maintenance community through the Internet.It can be as a test bed and promoter of newly developed technologies of diagnosis and maintenance.
