Stimulated by the recent development in the research area of second language vocabulary acquisition both in China and abroad, the author, by means of a questionnaire, conducted a survey of learner beliefs about vocabulary learning and strategy use by 203 non-English major freshmen in Tsinghua University. Based on the results, the author made some pedagogical suggestions on both the teaching of vocabulary knowledge and instruction in learning strategies.

近年来 ,国内外二语词汇习得领域的研究有了更多、更快的发展。受这些研究的启发 ,作者通过问卷 ,运用统计分析的方法 ,调查了清华大学非英语专业 2 0 3名大一学生对英语词汇学习的观念以及策略使用的情况。在此调查结果的基础上 ,作者对词汇知识教学以及词汇学习策略训练提出了一些建议

Through questionaire and by using SPSS software, studying concept discrepancy of English vocabulary between top students and poor students in higher vocational colleges is analyzed. Wemay come to the following conclusion: in three concepts of vocabulary study the discrepancy is not distinct between the group with higher marks and the group with lower marks regarding the memory, while the discrepancy is distinct as to the practice and learning concept.

通过调查问卷,并借助SPSS统计软件对高等职业学校优生与差生英语词汇学习观念的差异进行了研究。结果显示:在词汇学习的三种观念中,高分组和低分组在记忆观念上没有达到统计上显著性差异,而在习得和操练观念上两组有了显著性差异。操练观念与学生的成绩显著相关,阅读观念与成绩也是正相关。

This study investigated the vocabulary learning strategies used by senior middle school students and explored the relationship between vocabulary learning strategies and English achievements. The result indicated that senior middle students believed vocabulary should be learnt through use and employed various strategies in learning vocabulary. Besides, there were correlations between vocabulary learning strategies and English achievements.

以101名高中三年级学生为调查对象,运用定量研究的方法,调查了高中学生的词汇学习策略及其与英语成绩的关系。相关和回归分析结果表明,词汇学习策略与英语成绩有较大相关性,并能够预测英语成绩差异的53.2%;独立样本T检验结果表明,高分组与低分组学生在词汇学习观念、元认知管理策略和认知策略中均存在一定的差异。
