Since 1980s, we have finished four researches on the foundamental theory and practical control of machine tool chatter: one was subsidized by the Scientific Fund of State Education Committee, two were subsidized by the National Natural Science Foundation and the other was a Key problem in The Second Automobile Works of China. The main aspects of the four researches are included in this paper. Firstly, a new nonlinear theoretical model is proposed, which formulates the influences of three nonlinear factors (the phenomenon of tool vibrating out of workpiece surface, the nonlinear dependence of cutting force on cutting thickness, the dynamic changes of tool rake and clearance) on the dynamic behavior of machine tool cutting. Secondly, the characteristic patterns in both time-and frequency-domains for an early stage diagnosis of machine tool chatter as well as their fast algorithms are suggested and the on-line diagnostic criterions and control strategies are laid down; based upon them a computer-based on-line monitoring system is worked out, test results show its possibility to the early diagnosis and on-line control of machine tool chatter. Finally, with the real chatter of Mx-4 crankshaft lathe installed in The Second Automobile Works of China as a background, the conception and mechanism, mathematic model as well as control strategies of the forced regenerative chatter are proposed and practiced; as a real result of the researches, the violent chatter in Mx-4 lathe was controlled successfully, which was evaluated as that "a vital key problem in the Works is solved".

自80年代以来,在金属切削机床颤振的基础理论与颤振控制方面,我们先后完成了国家自然科学基金资助的两项课题与国家教委科学基金资助的一项课题,并在此基础上,联系实际,发展理论,完成了第二汽车制造厂的一项攻关课题。本文全面介绍了这些课题的主要研究工作:建立了切削颤振的一个新的非线性理论模型,揭示了刀具振离工件表面与切削力对于切削厚度的非线性依赖关系这两个基本的非线性因素,以及刀具前、后角变化对切削过程动态特性的影响规律;提出了颤振早期诊断的时域、频域特征量及其快速算法,制定了在线诊断判据与在线控制策略,研制了切削颤振的在线监控系统;根据第二汽车制造厂引进的关键设备Mx-4曲轴连杆颈车床的颤振现象,提出了强迫再生振动与强迫再生颤振的概念、机理、模型与控制对策,解决了二汽生产中的一个紧迫的重大关键问题。

Electrical contacts”is a field of science for studying electronic connection which is extremely important to the reliability of telecommunication, computer network, control systems and various electronic equipment. It is based on mechanical tribology but involved electronics, surface material science and chemistry. Since 1986, the Division of Engineering and Materials of Natural Science Foundation of China NSFC has supported four projects which obtained new findings shown as follows:i) Electrical contact failure is the major cause of error codes in digital circuit.ii) Electrical contact failure is mainly caused by environmental contamination including dust and corrosion as well as fretting wear.iii) The influence factors of dust contamination on electrical contact failure are: size and morphology of dust particles, hardness, morphology of the contact interfaces, fretting distance, normal force, electrical current etc.iv) The chemical compounds of dust are very complex which includes more than 20 kinds of inorganic compounds, 20 kinds of organic compounds, 5%~10% of dust dissolved in the water. They can cause high contact resistance, corrosion at the pores and wear tracks on plating surfaces.v) Island growth structure is identified with corroded products of various plating surfaces instead of continuous layer of film which was analyzed by western scientists.vi) Centric rings are found to be surrounded the core on top of the pores of gold platings. Rings are accumulated with corroded products which greatly increase the probability of contact failure.vii) Coating with proper lubricants can greatly reduce the failure caused by environmental effect.Proper selection for lubricants and their parameters are provided. So-called “universal lubricant” is not existed for complicated environment and application requirement.

国家自然科学基金自1986 年起资助的4 项电接触项目取得丰硕成果,其创新观点是:①电接触故障是数字电路误码的重要原因。②电接触故障主要由环境污染(尘土、腐蚀)及微动磨损引起。③影响尘土对电接触故障的因素有尘土尺寸、形貌、硬度,界面微观形貌,微动距离,压力,电流等。④尘土化学成分复杂,5% ~10% 的尘土可溶于水,尘土可引起高接触电阻、镀层微孔及磨损处腐蚀。⑤腐蚀生成物是岛状结构。⑥围绕镀金层微孔有多圈环状腐蚀堆积物,增大故障几率。⑦涂覆不同针对性的润滑物可大大减少环境造成的故障,提出正确选择润滑剂的原则与参数,指出不存在所谓“万能”润滑剂。
