This paper describes succinctly the operation mechanism of the ultradex with elastic teeth which is a new precise circular divider developed in China. This ultradex can make all tooth flanks of both serrated tooth discs in close contact under a certain axial force. The ultradex under such an over-constrained condition has a very high accuracy and it is stable in position. At present, the maximum dividing error of this ultradex is less than 0.1 arc second (±0.05 arc second). It is found that the dividing error...

This paper describes succinctly the operation mechanism of the ultradex with elastic teeth which is a new precise circular divider developed in China. This ultradex can make all tooth flanks of both serrated tooth discs in close contact under a certain axial force. The ultradex under such an over-constrained condition has a very high accuracy and it is stable in position. At present, the maximum dividing error of this ultradex is less than 0.1 arc second (±0.05 arc second). It is found that the dividing error will vanish when all teeth have the same stiffness. The relationship between the dividing error of the divider and the machining error of the serrated tooth discs has been found by experiments. The lapping process with exchanging position is an effective method to improve the dividing accuracy. Minimizing the unevenness of the tooth thickness will be of benefit to the accuracy. In practice the ultradex with elastic teeth has a lower requirement upon the environmental conditions.

本文扼要描述我国发展的一种新型多齿分度台——弹性齿多齿精密分度台的工作机理。这种多齿分度台与一般的多齿分度台的不同之处是:它在一定的轴向压力下,由于齿的弹性变形,能使所有齿的啮合面都保持接触。这种弹性过约束原理使它具有很高的工作分度精确度,而且定位稳定。弹性齿多齿精密分度台的最大工作分度误差目前已达到不大于0.1角秒(±0.05角秒)。从理论上证明了当齿刚度相同时,工作分度误差为零。对于分度台的工作分度误差与齿盘加工误差之间的关系进行了实验验证。易位研磨是提高分度台工作分度精确度的有效措施,减小齿厚的不均匀性也是有益的。在实际使用中,弹性齿多齿精密分度台对环境条件要求较低。

The quentions concerned the graduated bench of digital display are introduced in the paper. In the bench, a stepping motor is not only used as driving source but also used as angular measuring reference. The constitution of the system is simple. Its price is cheap. The autocontrol and graduaion accuracy have been realized.
