An experiment of a 26-member class in fast reading is reported, discussing the relationship between (1) reading speed, (2) comprehension, and (3) unfamiliar vocabulary. The author also looks at the psychological mechanisms involved in such training. It is suggested that a fast-reading syllabus might be designed with two stages of 4-5 weeks and 3-4 weeks each, the first for orientation and the second for consolidation.
