本文对锌汞电池所用原料在氢氧化钾溶液中的化学行为进行了分析,指出了锌在强碱溶液中的自溶;正极氧化汞中残存的硝酸亚汞在碱溶液中的不稳定性以及正、负极活性物质量的比例等因素与爆炸有关。已找到该种电池三种爆炸原因: ①原料氧化汞中残存未完全分解的硝酸亚汞 ②负极锌粉过量 ③锌粉末汞齐化 并以实验证明上述三种原因均会引起电池内部压力迅速增长而使电池发生爆炸。

The key technics concerning R14P ZnCl2 type paper-lined battery including air tight sealed structure, manufacturing process and performances of the battery were outlined. On the basis of successful development of this battery,the mercury -free battery was made with China's raw materials and assembly parts such as mercury -free seperator.ventless carbon rod. The results of eighteen months storage was satisfactory. The promising ways were found for producing ZnCU mercury - free battery in China.

Quality and technical problems in manufacturing mercury-free R20 paperlined battery, especially the factors causing short circuit were analyzed. The technique also included electrode forming, recom-pressing and sealing. The ways to improve the quality of R20 paperlined battery were suggested.
