The requirement of feature information for different application in an integrated manufacturing system is analyzed. The paper has summed up the inducing principle in application feature class with the emphasis of the research on the content of feature,dimension and tolerance information and the method of modelling. A feature based product information model has also been built in this paper.
This paper presents an integration methodology for design and process design based on a Unified Product Information Model (UPIM) and its implementation system. To meet the requirement of the part information model for the design activities of manufacturing process analysis Manufacturability analysis and evaluation is then carried out and process plans for the design are generated using a constraint-based process planning method. The implementation of design and process de sign integration is studied and practiced.
