Here two methods of calculation are constructed acco- rding to the monotonicity of the change of critical load with the length of rod. with these methods, the nonlinear programming with constraints is equivale- ntly changed into the sequential unconstrained 1-dimension optimization pro- blem and the optimal solution is searched with the special dichotomy. It is proved by the theory and the practice on electric computer that the advantages of the methods are followings, simple procedure, smaller quantity of calculation and quicker convergence rate.
