Besides creating distinction, a careful selection of packaging material and additives will provide a better protection to the valuable content. A better protection is a key to lengthening fluid dairy's shelf-life, a desire by many marketers that is driven by the economics of today's expanding marketplace. Fluid dairy beverages with a shelf-life longer than the traditional 14 days, preferably in the range of 60 to 90 days without visible defect, can help to meet demands from distribution centers. A longer shelf-life also helps to reduce returns of expired product and enables the opening of new distribution channels, improves the marketability of fluid dairy products, especially in a vast country like China where the logistics conditions are not favorable, everywhere.
