A first-generation satellite laser ranging system was developed by collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics for astro-geodynamio purpose. The power of pulse of the ruby laser is about 100MW, and the width of pulse about 25ns. The aperture of the receiver-telescope is 30cm. The resolution of the counter is 10ns. The system was installed at the Z6-Se section, Shanghai Observatory in November 1975. Since then, we have tracked the following satellites Geos-1, Geos-2, Geos-3 and BE-C....

A preliminary analysis of the accuracy of the satellite laser ranging system at Shanghai Observatory is made in this paper. The calibrations of the system have been carried out with four ground base lines, and the simulations of the returned signals from satellites by means of changing the diaphragms in front of the receiver-telescopa have been made. We believe the range accuracy is about±1.6 meters.

本文初步分析了上海天文台的第一代人造卫星激光测距系统的测距精度.利用四条地面基线对本测距系统进行校准,并采用改变接收口径模拟卫星回波的大幅度变化等方法,得到单次测距精度约为±1.5米.

A method for acquiring the tracks of artificial satellites is developed. By the method, we can in a short time, acquire the tracks of some satellites such as Geos-2 and Lageos at one single station, based only on the previous satelliles orbital elements or the observation data about 1-2 years ago.

为了开展人造卫星激光测距工作的实际需要,探索了一种拦截人造卫星的方法.特点是利用较早的轨道根数或观测资料,在单台站有可能以较短的时间内拦截到卫星.我们利用一、二年前的卫星资料先后拦截到Geos 2和Lageos等卫星.
