Advancements of nonlinear science theory and method in seismic forecasting applica-tion are indicated and commented. Advancements of nonlinear science theory and method in seismic forecasting applica-tion are indicated and commented. In the respect of nonlinear mathematical models , thethreshold regression model, the exponential model , and long-distance-relation ARLMAmodel, etc. , successfully have been applied into the earthquake prediction in the mediumterm. In the fractals study, some new finding or discovery has been obtained for the previ-ous experienced law or relation of the seismicity. In the dynamic mechanism studying, themuIti-spring-block model as a better instance is analogous to the generating mechanism ofearthquake by fault motion. For the multi-spring-block model , the dynamic equationswith stick-slip friction law have been established and through the equations the typicaly.Nonlinear behaviors , such as limit cycle, bifurcation and chaos etc.,have been derived.The model is useful to development of probability prediction of an earthquake based onphysics principle, The self-organization based on seisrnicity explained well some seismicactivity law by means of cellular automata. And the Renormalization Group method forthe criticality phenomenon of earthquakes has been applied into the medium-term earth-quake prediction with an obviously physical significance.

介绍了近年来地震预测学中非线性理论和非线性方法的研究趋势和最新研究进展。在非线性数学模型的研究中,较为成功地将非线性门限模型、指数模型、具有长程关联的自回归模型等应用于地震的中期预测上。在分形研究上,明确地取代了以往的一些经验结果,使对地震的活动的经验统计关系上升到分形的理论。在研究地震的动力学机制中,以多滑块—弹簧模型为代表,模拟地壳上地震断层运动机制和事实,建立了粘滑摩擦情况下的参数动力学方程,方程导出的动力行为出现了极限环、分岔、混沌等非线性行为,使对地震的有物理基础的概率预报有了明确的物理基础。基于地震活动的自组织临界现象,依赖于细胞自动机,较好地模拟出了地震的自组织行为,得到了接近于实际的地震活动统计规律。基于临界现象的重整化群方法应用于地震中期预报有深刻的物理意义。

Long-range dependence exists in many natural phenomena and process.The fractional ARIMA model can betterly reflect this kind of property.In this paper the fractional ARIMA model has been researched in fitting model and predictive method according to the seismicity.The results of prediction by the model has been in accordance with the real magnitude of earthquakes with very low error which indicates that the method has practical value for earthquake prediction.

长程关联存在于许多的自然现象和过程中,分数ARIMA模型很好地反映了这种特性。本文结合地震活动,探索了分数ARIMA模型的建模预报方法,所得结果在很小的误差范围内很实际情况一致,表明了本方法的实用价值。

The time - spacial characteristics of modulating small earthquake and dynamic small earthquakes before and after the 12 moderate earthquakes from Mar. 3, 1995 in Xinjiang and its nearby area were discussed , when these areas seismicity were in active period. The results show that the swarm region and its nearby of the modulating small earthquake and dynamic small earthquakes maybe the dangerous region of moderate earthquakes in the near future.

分析了进入活跃时段以来,新疆及邻近地区自1995年3月19日和硕Ms5.0对地震后,相继发生的12次Ms≥4.7地震前后调制小震和动态小震的时空活动特征,据此提出了孕震系统失稳模式:(1)外因调制-系统响应模式;(2)震源触发-系统响应模式.结果表明,调制小震密集区及边缘和受中强震触发引起长程关联活动的动态小震密集区及边缘,有可能是近期中强震的危险区.
