Landscape aesthetics theory has been developed recently by integrating with the theory of evolution.Both Appleton' s habitat theory and Kaplan's information processing theory have greater impacts on the development oflandscape aesthetics theory in which human aesthetic responses of landscapes were explored from a stand respeetivelyon the habitat conditions and cognitive structures of landscapes suitable for survival. At first, this peper more completely and incisively discussed the evolutionary theory of landscape aesthetics, and then pointed out that the landscapeaesthetics expressed in the evolutional aesthetics is at a simple and utilitarian level from a progressive perspective oflandscape aesthetics. Finally, the author attempted to state that the ideas of landscape aesthetics have changed frommatetial to spirit, from simple utilitarianism to reasonable holistism in the developing process.

rasshopper population had been monitored for two years on the different grazing pas-tures of natural steppes in Inner Mongolia,and correlated with floral biomass in these pas-tures. Grasshopper and plant sampling were conducted in three types of vegetation sites. Eachsite was divided into five plots as : ungrazed, lightly grazed, properly grazed, heavily grazedand overgrazed plots along grazing gradients, based on different grazing intensities, Abun-dance and diversity of plant and grasshopper communities...

Totalcalorific values of grasshopper biomass were significantly higher in low biomass pastures,al-though the values reduced in the overgrazed plots of Stipa steppes. Change in plant communi-ty directly affected the community structure of grasshoppers. However , the diversity andevenness pattern of vegetations were not entirely parallel to those of grasshopper species.Diversity of plant species was significantly higher in moderately grazed plots ,while diversityof grasshopper species were significantly higher in ungrazed and lightly grazed plots. Calorificvalues of grasshoppers in subfamily Catantopinae were positively correlated with grass andnegatively correlated with forbe and short grasses , while the values of grasshoppers in sub-family Oedipodinae were negatively correlated with grasses and total plant biomass and posi-tively correlated with forbs and leguminous plant. In subfainily Gomphocerinae, some specieswere closely associated with overgrazed pastures, while some species were associated withgood floral conditions. Soil compactness and water content also singnificantly affectedgrasshopper species biomass and community complex. Grazing in moderate intensity pre-served the highest plant diversity and more diverse grasshopper community with lower pro-portion of the pest species. The relationships between grazing practice and conservation ofplant and grasshopper diversity were discussed.

The ultimate goal of milu conservation is to re-establish the metapopulation of milu. And all subpopulations of the metapopulation should be managed in relation to each other. Since their original habitats have changed and fragmented, the method combining the in-situ conservation with the ex-situ conservation to achieve the goal of saving milu should be used. In historic time, milu in their original distribution area was a keystone species of wetland ecosystem. They were large herbivorous, second producers....

In historic time, milu in their original distribution area was a keystone species of wetland ecosystem. They were large herbivorous, second producers. But later, they were replaced by livestock. Reintroducing milu into natural habitat (wetland ecosystem) will play an important role to increase the naturalness and the completeness of wetland ecosystem. So far, the milu herd in Hubei Shishou Wetland Milu Natural Reserve is the only subpopulation living under its ?traditional physical conditions of wetland ecosystem in the world.

由于麋鹿原始栖息地的改变和破碎化,保护麋鹿只能采取迁地与就地保护相结合的策略,即建立一个包括许多(迁地和就地)亚种群的超种群。湖北石首天鹅洲湿地麋鹿保护区的麋鹿群是目前世界上生活在最接近原始栖息地条件下的麋鹿亚种群。在历史上麋鹿是其原始分布区的湿地生态系统中的关键种,它们是大型草食动物,起着次级生产者的作用,后来被家畜取代。麋鹿回归自然对恢复湿地生态系统的自然性与完整性具有十分重要的作用。
