In this paper, the squirrel-cage sieve cleaning mechanism applied to the combine has been studied initially. Analyses on the basis of the high speed photography of the combine shoe, the airflow distribution measurement, the vi-bration and noise measurement show that this cleaning mechanism is benefic-ial to simplify the combine construction, to decrease the vibration and noise, and to improve the suitability for wet separation.
