When the quantity of the ion with the greater Kd (Cd(Ⅱ)in the present case) is quite large, we must also consider the relative quantities of the ions to be separated, because when the quantity is large, the ion tends to be eluted earlier than it should be, then it is quite possible for it to mix with the ion with the smaller Kd.
