Methods Between May 2001 and May 2006,we performed 524 cases of esophago-gastroplasty by handwork anastomosis in postoperative esophageal carcinoma, including 327cases with whole layer anastomosis and gastric seromuscular layer embedding,141cases gastro-esophageal oblique intussusceptive anastomosis,56cases with esophago-gastric mucosa anastomosis covered by gastric seromuscular valve.
[Conclusion] Residual stomach is an ideal candidate for the replacement of esophagus and residual stomach esophagus anastomosis is a simple operative alternative with slight trauma and good results for the treatment of esophageal carcinoma after gastrectomy.
Decreased sympathetic inhibition in gastroesophageal reflux disease
This study was undertaken to evaluate autonomic nervous system function in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
In these patients, decreased sympathetic function may cause dysfunction of intrinsic inhibitory control with increased transient spontaneous lower-esophageal sphincter relaxations, thus resulting in gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Significance of Radiation Therapy for Adenocarcinomas of the Esophagus, Gastroesophageal Junction and Gastric Cancer with Specia
Health professionals treating asthmatic patients should consider sinusitis as a possible underlying cause, in addition to other triggers (eg, allergic rhinitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease).
