On the mechanism of laser analgesia, the author presented the regular pattern of change on serum calcium, serum potassium, serotonin (5—HT) and acetylcholine (ACH) in the ccrebrospinal fluid(CSF) of the horses.
The main anaesthesia methods for tooth and pulp operations in clinical practices consists of local anesthetic injection, electronic anaesthesia, acupuncture anaesthesia, laser anaesthesia, devitalization of dental pulp(including arseniious oxide, citromint and traditional Chinese medicine devitalizer).
This paper presents the results of 100 laser concerning the use of Nd : YAP laser inrradiation at Ashi point and Hoku point for analgesia in drawing-tooth. It shows that the percentage of exccl- lent and good results is 80% for permanent tooth and 93.3% for milky tooth. This method has been proved to be practical and superior to He-Ne laser in analgesia.
The following observations performed by potassium iontophoresis method to measure the pain thresholds in animals before and after laser-puncture were made.
We recorded 87 units in NR altogether. After laser irradiation on the "Hua Tuo Jia Ji"acupoint,42 of (48.27%)units were excited obviously;34 of (39.03%) units inhibited and 30 of(34.49%)units attenuated the responses to nociceptive stimu-lij naloxone reversed great majority responses to laser(8/10).The results suggest that laser can affect the spontaneous discharge of most NR units. That naloxone mainly activated the responses of NR units may be related to increase of compensative function of 5-HT neurons.The...
This paper reported that skin surface of median nerves, tibial nerves, other peripheral nerves of horses, dogs, cattle, goats and pigs radiated by He-Ne laser beam can produce better analgesia effect after 30 minutes. The method has the best effect on horse and dog, medium effect on cattle and goat, and the worst effect on pig. He-Ne laser analgesia had no harmful impact on the cardiac function of the animals. The electroencephalogram (EEC) had slow symmetry rhythm and evident dominance of area. Meanwhile, ...
