This paper, based on the review of the related researches, is designed to investigate the effect of English language anxiety on the Tibetan students in Ganna Tibetan Autonomous Region in Gansu.Statistical results provide the evidence: communication apprehension ranks the first position among the factors which cause anxiety; the junior and senior middle school students' anxiety is higher than the college students'; the males' anxiety is higher than the females'.

用问卷调查和中心组(focusgroups)的方法研究了113名非英语专业二年级本科生英语课堂焦虑的来源。实验发现英语课堂焦虑主要来源于四级考试的压力,面对全班同学用英语发言,自尊(self-esteem)不强和竞争,词汇学习的困难及不能用英语自如的交流。

The purpose of this paper was to exam the effect of language anxiety on English majors. The study contains the following two parts(:a)Does language anxiety have effect on English majors? (b) What factors influence students’ proficiency most? The study found that: (a) Language anxiety has significant negative effect on advanced language learning but has no facilitative effect. (b) Fear of negative evaluation and fear of failing the class are the main factors which influence the English majors most.

本文旨在研究英语专业学生的英语课堂焦虑对语言学习成绩的影响。研究的内容包括以下两方面:(1)语言焦虑对英语专业学生的语言学习是否有影响。(2)最能影响学生语言学习的焦虑因素及学生对课堂焦虑的具体反映。研究结果表明:(1)焦虑能够负面影响英语专业学生的语言学习。(2)害怕负面评价和害怕跟不上班是最能影响语言学习的主要焦虑因素。
