This paper briefs in the advantages of coal gasification combined cycle power generation technology as well as the trend in development. Some highlights of the technology are also discussed such as coal gasifying and purification. The present status of coal gasified combined cycle power plant outside China as well as the major research subjects in this area are also reviewed.
