The effects of the twenty organic complexing agents on the absorbance of calcium in AAS by air-acetylene flame are examined. The atomic absorption signals for Ca are enhanced by all agents added except four ali-phatic acids,especially sulphosalicylic acid(SS) is the most remakable.The effects of SS on calcium absorption are investigated in detail. The mechanism of the enhancement and suppression effects are explored preliminarily.In the presence of 0.1M SS, with increasing the absorbance of Ca to about150%,the interference of some ions is suppressed partly, so that the linearity of calibration curves is improved.It is revealed that sulphosalicylic acid acts not only as an atomic absorption enhancer but also as an interference suppressor in the determination of calcium by air-acetylene flame AAS. The results obtained for artificial steel samples are satisfactory.

The effects of water surface in the summer afternoon on development process, flow pattern and echo structure of cumulus which moves with a vertical uniform ambient wind were investigated by a two-dimensional slab-symmetric warm cumulus cloud model. A simple method by which water surface is introduced into the model was used.It is found that the effects are expressed in two aspects: one is that the updraft of water-land wind strengthens the cumulus when it moves to the water surface; the other is that the downdraft of the circulation and the cold air layer above the water restrains the development of the cumulus while it is across the water surface. Under the effects of the cold surface, the flow pattern and the field of radar reflective factor of cumulus are largely changed. After the clouds move away from the water, some of them can be re-enhanced.

The adsorption isotherm for the salicylic acid solution/Ag mirror system is studied by measuring SERS intensity at the different concentration under the same temperature.All of the experimental results suggest that the SERS technique indeed provide a high sensitive new method for studing adsorption isotherm on the solid surface.
