This report presents the results of an experimental study conducted to determ-ine by strain gauges the stress distribution around a tangential nozzle in a thin-walled cylindrical pressure vessel. The results indicate that the strength of the lange-ential nozzle is not weaker than its radial counterpart. And the stress concentrationof tangential nozzle factor calculated by Mershons formula is considered to be agood approximation the experimental data.

In this paper, local stress analysis on three kinds of unequal thickness connections in cylindrical vessels is made according to the thin-wall theory. By arranging the results into a concise formula and some simple diagrams and comparing them with our experimental data. We get the conclusion that the formula is safe and usably for the purpose of structure, design and fracture analyses.

本文应用薄壳理论对圆筒形压力容器不等厚连接结构的局部应力进行了分析,将其结果整理成较为简明的公式和图表,并与实验数据作了比较。结果表明本文所给公式是偏于安全的,可供结构设计和断裂分析时应用。
