The characteristics of spatial frequenoy of our previously proposed mathematicall model of the retinal reoeptive fields are investigated. First of all, the model is simplified, assuming that the weight function K(x) is the difference between two normal distributions, then Fourier transformation of this function is made, followed by disoussion on the characteristics of the function based on the spatial frequency component. The rasults have showed that the funotion K(w) is also the difference between two normal distributions, but variance and peak value in each term are different. Generally speaking, certain correction may be made from K(w) with respect to an input pattern. Differentiating K(w), the frequenoy value w~* may be obtained, at this value w~* the K(w) arrived maximum. The condition inhibiting direct current component is found. The effect of disappearance of peripheral inhibitory area in reoeptive field is disscussed. Finally, the relationship between the simplified model of the retinal receptive field and the lateral inhibitory neuronal network is explored.

The impulses of hair-like vibrative receptors of the cockroach cercus ascend through or across each of the Vth-Ist abdominal nerve ganglions. In addition, the impulses go back from the recurrent nerve of each one of the Ist-Ⅵth ganglion to the cercus. According to the delay time of impulse conduction through the ganglion, it is supposed that the three pathways compose a network of giant fibers without chemical synapse between the lst-5th ganglion in the abdominal nerve cord of the cockrosch (Periplaneta americana)....
