A technique to apply the complex number method to the kinematic synthesis of the rack - and - gear function generating mechanism is presented here. Due to the extra complexity of the rack - and - gear both monotoinic and non - monotonic functions, as well as non - liner functions, can be generated. In this paper,The method of complex number is applied towards the kinematic synthesis (function generation,path generation and rigid body guidance)of the rack and gear mechanism,and the continuation method is introduced for the evaluation of the equations of synthesis,which doesnt need the initial guesses and can obtain all solutions.There by,the selection of the optimum mechanism for kinematic synthesis problems can be realized.However,the multiple task synthesis of this mechanism is discussed.Finally,the example is given to illustrate the synthesis procedure.

本文应用复数法给出了齿条—齿轮四杆机构的运动综合(函数生成、再现轨迹和运动生成)方程,研究了该机构的多任务综合问题,并用连续法求解综合方程组。文中给出了数值实例,求出了满足多任务设计要求的全部机构,并进一步考虑曲柄存在、运动干涉等实际约束问题,对综合所得机构进行了优选。
