This paper, based on structual functional analisis, suggest that much more people should be covered by the government pension system, China should make more investment channels and portfolios available to the pension funds, and China's mega pension funds could be injected into the stock market, managed by professionals. In return, the stock market could also be fuelled and stabilized by the influx of funds that seek longer returns. The move would better serve the burgeoning retirement needs of our nation's enormous aging population.
