This paper presents a solution to the interpolation of transforming one triangular meshmodel into another triangular mesh based on their intrinsic definitions. Rather than considering atriangular mesh as a set of independent points, the solution treats a triangular mesh as a set of intrinsic variables which describes the basic geometric nature of the triangular mesh. This paper presents a solution to the interpolation of transforming one triangular meshmodel into another triangular mesh based on their intrinsic definitions. Rather than considering atriangular mesh as a set of independent points, the solution treats a triangular mesh as a set of intrinsic variables which describes the basic geometric nature of the triangular mesh. The correspondent intrinsic variables of the initial and the final meshes are interpolated to determine the intermediate shapes. This approach is easy and fast enough in fully interactive time and can avoid the shrinkage and kinks because all the variables change monotonically. The approach produces satisfactoryresults and is translation and rotation invariant. It is also useful for the shape blending betweenfree-form surfaces as they can be approximated by triangular mesh using triangulation techniques.

本文给出了基于内在变量插值的空间三角网格形状混合的内在解算法.不同手插值对应顶点位置的方法,我们首先给出描述三角网格各项点空间相对位置结构的内在集,然后插值相应的内在变量实现三角网格之间的形状混合.将曲面离散剖分成逼近三角网格后,我们的算法同样适用于曲面的形状混合.算法简单直观,计算速度快,能够实时地完成;内在变量单调变化,能避免中间形状的萎缩扭曲,且插值帧形状与关键帧的位置及朝向无关.文中的例子表明,按这种算法产生的动画过渡平滑,节奏自然,画面流畅,变形效果是令人满意的.
