An effective method for polishing thick free standing diamond films based on the reaction of veryreactive rare earth metals (e. g. La) with carbon (diamond) was studied.It was found that the rate of diamond removal by La largely depended on the polishing temperature. 研究开发了一种快速有效地抛光化学气相沉积(CVD)金刚石厚膜的技术。该技术利用化学活性很强的稀土金属镧(La)与金刚石(碳)的化学反应,在一定的工艺条件下可对金刚石膜进行有效的抛光。抛光速率的高低与抛光温度有关,在温度大于900℃时抛光效率较高,可达34μm/h,表面粗糙度可从原来的Ra12μm降至Ra1.6μm,如用于后续的精抛光,可大大减少抛光的时间和提高抛光效率,使表面十分粗糙的金刚石厚膜的精抛光能得以经济地进行。

In making metal cutting tools, four kinds of diamond are used, i. e.natural single-crystal diamond, synthetic single-crystal diamond, polycrystalline at high teoprature and high pressure diamond(PCD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond. In recent years, CVD diamond tools are used more and widely. CVD diamond can be used in two different ways for tool making, i. e. CVD freestanding diamond thick film which can be brazed onto a cemented carbide tool in the same way as PCD and diamond thin film coatcd...

This paper is focused on the preparation of diamond thick films, making of diamond film tools and the too cutting performance.

用于制造金属切削刀具的金刚石主要有四种类型:(1)天然单晶金刚石;(2)人工合成单晶金刚石;(3)聚晶金刚石复合片(PCD);(4)化学气相沉积(CVD)金刚石膜。近年来,随着CVD金刚石工艺的发展,CVD金刚石对具的应用越来越广泛。CVD金刚石对具有两类:CVD金刚石薄膜涂层刀具和CVD金刚石厚膜焊接刀具。由于金刚石厚膜焊接刀具兼有单晶金刚石和金刚石薄膜涂层刀具的优点,从而具有广阔的应用前景。本文主要介绍金刚石厚膜的制备、厚膜刀具的制造及厚膜刀具的切削性能。

The character of CVD coated diamond cutters is introduced. A test to compare the wearability between CVD coated thick diamond film cutters and PCD cutters is carried out. The result shows that the wearability of CVD coated thick diamond film cutters is remarkable better than that of PCD cutters, but the toughness of diamond cutters is a little lower.

介绍了CVD 金刚石刀具的特点,进行了CVD 金刚石厚膜刀具与PCD 刀具的耐磨性对比试验,结果表明CVD 金刚石厚膜刀具的耐磨性明显优于PCD 刀具,但韧性略低。
