Based on data of July and August for years 1974-1977,the general circulationin the equatorial regions from south China Sea to the West Pacific is studied.It is found that,so far as the climatological average is concerned,the EastAfrican low-level jet can influence the south parts of India,Bay of Bengal,Indo-China,and South China Sea.In this regions,the interannual changes of monthlymean intensity of southwest monsoon are consistent with each other.There is achannel of cross-equatorial flow Iocated at about 150°E near the east coast of NewGuinea,while in the area of 110-140°E equator there is no strong and consistentsoutherly cross-equatorial flow.To the east of New Guinea,the air from SouthernHemisphere crosses the equator and turns to southwesterly flow blowing in the Ne-rthwestern Pacific.The topographical influence of the high mountains in NewGuinea is the important cause of the existence of this cross-equatorial flow.It isfound that the southwest monsoon in the southern parts of Indo-China and SouthChina Sea mainly comes from southern India and Bay of Bengal,it does not dire-ctly comes from the Southern Hemisphere.But the southwest monsoon in tropicalNerthwestern Pacific comes directly from Southern Hemisphere.The intensity ofthe southerly component of cross-equatorial flow near the east coast of New Gui-nea closely relates to the intensity of the southwest monsoon in the tropicalNerthwestern Pacific.Hence,the southwest monsoon to the south about 15°Nfrom Southern Asia to Nerthwestern Pacific consists of two branches of air flow,one is the East African low-level jet,which flows from southern India to SouthChina Sea,and the other comes from the Southern Hemisphere crossing equatornear 150°E.

In this paper, the winter circulation over Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent regions is simulated in a rotating annulus. The main results are as follows:In winter, the formation and the intensity of the major trough over Eastern-Asia is not only related to the Gontinent-Ocean distribution and the dynamical role of the Plateau, but also to the thermodynanlic effect of the Plateau which is also very important.The atmosphere over the plateau and its adjacent regions is a cold source in winter. The meridional vertical circulation to the south and north of the plateau is directly related to the cooling effect over the plateau.Besides, we find that a cooling modle plateau may give rise to minor troughs moving eastward on the southern branch current to the south of the plateau.By comparing the experimental results of a nonheating and noncooling model plateau, a cooling model plateau and a partly heating model plateau, some dynamic and the thermodynanlic roles of the plateau are revealed.

本文应用转盘模拟实验的方法,模拟了冬季青藏高原及其邻近地区流场的状况,通过实验看到: 冬季东亚大槽的形成和强弱,不仅与海陆分布及高原的动力作用有关,而且高原的热力作用也很重要;高原及其邻近地区上空的大气作为冷源,对其南北两侧的垂直环流的形成也有直接关系。此外,我们看到冷高原可使南支气流产生小槽东移的现象。 在实验中,我们分别用中性高原模型,冷性高原模型和部分加热高原模型作了对比实验,揭示了高原的一系列动力作用和热力作用。

In this paper, we have analysed the wind data and synoptic circulation pattern over West Pacific and Southeast Asia. It is shown that there is a cross-equator jet flow from Australia which prevails the East China and determines the precipitation in China. This flow is defined as cross-equator flow from Australia and low level jet over China.It has very important effect on the summer precipitation over China. In this paper, we have analysed the wind data and synoptic circulation pattern over West Pacific and Southeast Asia. It is shown that there is a cross-equator jet flow from Australia which prevails the East China and determines the precipitation in China. This flow is defined as cross-equator flow from Australia and low level jet over China.It has very important effect on the summer precipitation over China. The effects on precipitation in China of Southwest monsoon coming from India and southwest monsoon coming from West Pacific have been analysed by some authors. In this paper it is pointed out that the cross-equator flow which lies between these two flows mentioned above and comes from Australia of South Hemisphere effects the summer monsoon rainfall over China.It is noticed that exploration of this flow will help to research in a deep going way on structure of summer monsoon over East Asia and help to change our ideas about this subject.

本文通过多年平均风场和卫星云图等资料的分析揭示了一支源于澳洲的过赤道气流的存在。本文定义这支源自南半球并伸入中国内陆的气流为澳洲过赤道气流和中国低空急流。 本文指出,这支气流处在南亚经向季风环流的低层,是南亚季风的重要组成部份,是动量和水汽输送的重要通道。它对我国夏季季凤降水的影响更为直接。过去人们研究了东非过赤道气流及延伸的西南季风和西太平洋上东南季风及其对我国的影响。本文指出的中间这支气流对我国夏季季风降雨作用明显。 本文认为,这支气流的揭示将有助于深入讨论和改变对东亚季风和赤道一带大气环流结构的看法。
