The paper described the design idea, design procedure, design parameters and improved structure design of the components for the E type diesel engine. The 16V240ZJE type diesel engine has been evaluated through the various tests, such as the exploitation test, modes engine test, durability test and confidence evaluation of the components in test bed. According to the problems that is shown in the durability test, some components such as the connecting rod, gear bearing box and spring coupling have been improved. Each design parameter has been accepted. The development engine has been manufactured successfully.

16V240ZJE型柴油机是与英国里卡多公司进行技术合作,研制开发的高强化、大功率柴油机,标定功率将达到3680kW。详细地叙述了E型机的设计思路、设计过程、设计参数和各零部件结构设计改进情况,以及E型机的开发试验、样机试验和耐久试验及试验台各零部件的可靠性评价结果,并根据耐久试验暴露出来的问题,对连杆、齿轮支承轴、弹性联轴节等做了改进设计,最后达到了各项设计指标,成功的完成了研制工作。
