In order to promote the development of the aluminum tribologicalmaterials,the progress and present situations of tribological surface modification techniques ofaluminum materials were summarized,and the essential principle,treatment metheds andapplications of the self lubricating anodised treatment techn ique,which is forging rapidly ahead,were emphasized;Meanwhile,according to the testing and analyzing results, some problems in theresearch and development work of self-lubricating anedised layer and the reasons account for theoccurrence of these problems were discussed and analyzed.Finally,the future development trends and some key subjects,which should be solved,have been pred icted and reviewed.
