In this paper reduction of the friction loss and improvement of thevolumetric efficiency and the torque characteristics of engine by means of selecting intakesystem,optimizing intake manifold joint length and modifying corrective method ofdosage were discussed.Based on this,emphaticaly the experimental investigation onselecting the optimum nozzle size and engine matching work were carried out.Inorder to obtain uniform fuel spray distribution on the wall of combustion chamber,authors redesigned an assymmetric spray angle nozzle,consequently the engine perfor-mance and smoke improved effectually.In result indicated,that under various speedsat full power the SFC decreased less than 230 g/kW.h,smoke less than 3BSU andmaximum combustion pressure can steadily maintain up to 9 MPa.

An eppor correcting method was used. Also the author has developed a lubrication model and compiled acomputer program by which the starved lubrication of rings was taken into account. The experimental results show that this device developed by the author works well in practice and the theoretical model considering the oil starvation is more reasonoble.

Calculation and measurement of the thickness of lub-oil for piston ring pack are important contents of engine friction research. The author modified the lubricating model of piston ring and produced a calculation program which is close to the practice. In the program the factors such as distribution and consumption of lub-oil in the piston ring pack in case of starved lubrication are taken into account; continuity calculation of the supply of lub-oil is carried out; and the mixed lubrication appeared at the upper and lower bound is considered. The author have also developed a FM device to measure the thickness of lub-oil for high-speed diesel engine with small cylinder diameter.Theoretical calculation indicates that the phasical model of piston ring pack with starved lubracation in consideration is reasonable. The thickness of jacket piston ring calculated with the model is similar to the value from measurement.The effect of the factors that affect the thickness of lub-oil is verified by the tests under different conditions and many calculations.

活塞环油膜厚度的计算和测量是发动机摩擦学研究的重要内容,作者改进了活塞环的润滑模型,编制了更加接近实际的计算程序,在程序中考虑了多环贫油润滑情况下滑油的分布、烧耗等因素,并进行了供油量的连续性计算,同时考虑了上、下止点处出现的混合润滑。作者还在高速小缸径柴油机上开发了一种调频式活塞环油膜厚度测量装置。理论计算表明,考虑贫油及布油情况的多环物理模型是合理的,用该模型计算的缸套活塞环油膜厚度很接近实测值。通过不同条件下的试验和计算进一步探明了影响活塞环油膜厚度的诸因素的作用。
