ResultsIn the treatment group, the audition of 21 cases recovered, 12 cases got 15～30 dB increasing, 2 cases increased <15 dB. In the control group, the audition of 10 cases recovered, 4 cases got 15～30 dB increasing, 9 cases increased <15 dB and 7 cases had no obvious improvement. There was a significant difference between effects of two groups ( P<0.05).
RESULTS: Postoperation observed 1.5-9 years, audition increased 30dB more than 17 patients, audition increased 10dB~30dB 47 patients, no increased 4 patients ( including 2 patients the artificial auditory ossicles expel through tympanum cause of postoperative infection ).
Methods For 161 patients of the SD, the parameters of the hearing before treatment, vertigo and vestibule functions, were analyzed to establish a statistic model by means of Logistic regression with single factor analysis of variance, Logistic regression analysis and Chi square test.

Conclusion This procedure is a optimal cure strategy for cholesteatoma and severe chronic otitis media,which can not only remove the pathological changes thoroughly to prevent disease recurrence but also maximatily improve the hearing of the diseased ear.
