This research showed that CaCl 2 enhance the wheat salt tolerances and that the plasma membrane potential change modulated the K + channel opening or closing in wheat root cell; 100 mmol/L NaCl reduced the membrane potential, in conjunction with K + content reducing, MDA content as well as the leakage rate increasing; CaCl 2 reversed the NaCl effects, namely that CaCl 2 kept membrane potential, the K + channel opening, and K + content increasing.
